History of Dam Vua Sea Salt Company

 On January 12th, 1994, Dam Vua Sea Salt Company was officially formed and named  as Dam Vua Salt Joint-Venture Enterprise (The  Company). The Company is a joint  enterprise business with Ninh Thuan Salt Company and The APPLEIEN Economic  Consortiums  of Switzerland. The Company has initially invested  USD$1,530,000.00 in legal capital of which Vietnam shared USD$530,000.00  and foreign investors shared USD$1,000,000.00. The Company has begun to operate and produce since 1996.Some highlights of the  development:
- On January 12^th, 1994, the Company obtained an investment certificate No. 765 to commence an operation for 20 years;
- In October 2004, Ninh Thuan salt company joined partnership with MK-Group from Russia, of which the MK- Group held 65% of the fund while Ninh Thuận Salt Company held 35%  of the shares;
- On July 30^th, 2008, The Sea Salt Dam Vua Inc. was officially changed its name to Công ty TNHH Đầm Vua in Vietnamese and  DAM VUA CO., LTD in English
- In October 12^th, 2012, the Company has extended its operational period for 50 years from the initial date of investment certificate No. 765 GP issued on January 12^th, 1994;
- Salt plantation area occupies on 365.5 hectare, and is located at Khanh Tuong village of Tri Hai commune, and Khanh Nhon village of Nhon Hai commune, which all belong to Ninh Hai district on route 702;
- The Representative Office occupies on 1,500m2 area at 80 Yen Ninh Street, Van Hai District, Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan Province.

Mr. An Van Khanh, MA. – Deputy Director Department of Trade and Processing of Agricultural, Forestry, Aquaculture and Salt said: “Until now, Dam Vua Sea Salt Company is the only enterprise with foreign countries in the field of sea salt production in Viet Nam. Our Company has invested in the construction of salt plantations based on longitudinal  production methods and the Company has started to operate salt production since 1996. Until 2012, the company has achieved the following excellent results:

 - Produced over 743 thousand metric ton of salt, which is averaged about 44 thousand metric ton a year to surpass the original estimation, despite unfavourable weather in the recent years.
-  Total sales achieved 293 billion VND, which is averaged 17 billion VND per year. The Company not only contributed more than 13 billion VND to the national budget but also donated substantial funds to charity works that supported the poors in the province.
- The Company has currently employed 650 full-time workers and contractors. 

Presently, the Company has planned to expand the total area of plantations in production, to construct and renovate more facilities to help clean salt production efficiently.  During the production process, all plantation fields to be covered with plastic sheets and the Company has also planned to invest in equipment to produce pure salts onsite. Another venture has been carefully planned is to make the production plantations to be part of the ecotourism. The Company has  continued to do further scientific research to find out new method to increasingly stabilize the salt production both in quantity and quality. It aims at delivery to our clients variety of high quality products.
